The compact SUV receives bespoke styling touches inside and out

From April, Dacia is increasing the trim level count for its Duster compact Sport Utility Vehicle range by introducing ‘Extreme SE’.

Customers can now place an order for the special edition vehicle, which is based on the top of the range ‘Prestige’ trim level. On the road prices start from £17,495 and deliveries will begin in May, the company has confirmed.

Dacia says the ‘Extreme SE’ spec “adds an unbeatable mix of style and value” to the Romanian-built car by adding “exclusive design cues and fresh features”.

17-inch black alloy wheels and ‘Urban Grey’ paint are both unique to the limited run car, which is also available in seven other paint choices.

Irrespective of what colour buyers go for, the door mirrors, grille and roof bars on every example are finished in ‘Grey Quartz’ and complemented by orange detailing on aspects such as the ‘Duster’ inscription on the tailgate trim.

The grey and orange theme continues inside, with the latter featuring on the seat stitching and satin chrome air vents. A surround finished in ‘Charcoal grey’ frames the centre console and the inserts used for the front door panels are manufactured from piano black plastic.

Standard equipment includes an 8-inch ‘Media Nav’ infotainment system with satellite navigation and wireless smartphone mirroring function, automatic air conditioning, keyless entry, heated seats, a multi-view camera and blind spot warning.

Under the bonnet, there are three engine choices. Petrol motors vary from a 1-litre, three-cylinder good for 90bhp to more powerful 128bhp and 148bhp versions. The sole diesel engine in the line-up is a turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 113bhp.

The ‘Extreme SE’ also gets Dacia’s 100bhp bi-fuel powertrain –  a turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of running on both petrol and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Customers who opt for the diesel benefit from four-wheel drive, with power sent to the front and rear axle via a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Prices start from £17,495 for the entry-level, two-wheel-drive petrol model, rising to £21,465 for the 115bhp, four-wheel-drive diesel.
